Welcome to the Official Website of contemporary British artist, Xanthus Andrews.

Based in the South East of England, Xanthus Andrews studied Fine Art at the University of Kent where he obtained a First Class Honours Degree in 2012. Currently Xanthus is studying for an MA in Fine Art at the University for the Creative Arts in Canterbury, Kent.

My practice is one of gathering and selecting information and of organising that information abstractly to create objects that might activate further spatial possibilities. Mapping locations and the performative act of walking has become a tool for exploring different sites and spaces. Navigation through space is the focus of my practice and ideas are generated through engaging in a process of mapping specific sites. A map is an abstraction of a particular location, which offers a certain code that enables navigation through a space. In investigating spatial aspects of a site, through maps and mapping, my work represents a dialogue between the location and its abstraction.

Whether you are a private collector or gallery owner, if you are interested in exhibiting Xanthus’ work, contact the artist via the ‘Contact page’ in the navigation bar. Businesses and private clients are equally welcome and commissions accepted.

I hope you enjoy exploring this website and all the work that it has to offer. I appreciate your feedback and I’m more than happy to answer any questions you have regarding my work.
